Naval personnel attached to SLNS Vijaya in Kalpitiya arrested twenty one local fishermen with 6 FGDs engaged in illegal fishing using a Surukku net in the Norochcholai and Udappuwa sea areas on 27th January 2016.

Navy transfers a heart patient ashore for emergency medical treatment
The Sri Lanka Navy being the competent authority in maintaining the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) for the ocean and seas around Sri Lanka rendered assistance to transfer a crew member of the Merchant Vessel “Venus R” who had a heart ailment onboard.

Sri Lanka Navy conducts Naval Exercise with Indian Naval ships off Colombo
On completion of their four-day visit, the Indian naval aircraft carrier “INS Vikramaditya” and “INS Mysore”, joined with Sri Lankan Naval Ships “Sayura”, “Samudura” and three Fast Attack Craft in the seas off Colombo for a combined five-hour naval exercise on 24th January 2016.
