Two more Reverse Osmosis plants bestowed upon public by Commander of the Navy
 

Out of many community service projects conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy, installation of Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants in the areas which are prone to the Chronic Interstitial Nephritis in Agricultural Communities (CINAC) has been recognized as a noble cause successfully executed throughout the last year.

On receipt of intelligence information, a group of naval personnel attached to SLNS Vijayaba located in Nilaweli in the Eastern Naval Command apprehended a person with 2.25 kg of Kerala Cannabis kept in his possession in the general area of Thorankadu today (22).

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Gajaba located in Talaimannar in the North Central Naval Command arrested 3 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities using explosives in the seas off South Bar in Talaimannar yesterday (21).

Twenty six (26) Special Boat Squadron personnel pass out in Trincomalee
 

Twenty six (26) Special Boat Squadron personnel belonging to the 23rd and 24th Intakes of the Special Boat Squadron (SBS), the elite force of the Sri Lanka Navy, passed out at the SBS Headquarters located at the Naval Dockyard Trincomalee, on successful completion of their training today (20).

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Therapuththa located in Silawathurai in the North Western Naval Command arrested 4 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities using monofilament nets in the sea area of Silawathurai yesterday (19).

On receipt of intelligence information, a group of naval personnel attached to the Coast Guard Station located in Kirinda along with Ambalantota Police Special Task Force personnel, apprehended 3 persons with 800 g of Kerala Cannabis kept in their possession.

US Navy Ship ‘Hopper’ arrives at the Port of Colombo
 

The US Navy Ship ‘Hopper’ arrived at the Port of Colombo today (19) on a goodwill visit. The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer was ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on her arrival. Subsequently, the Commanding Officer of the ship, Commander John D. Gainey paid a courtesy call on the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva at the Western Naval Command Headquarters.
