Navy Seva Vanitha Unit launches tree planting programme to coincide with International Day of Forests
Following a notion by the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne a command-wise tree planting campaign had been organized, to mark the International Day of Forests that fell on 21st March 2021. At the invitation of the NSVU President, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne graced over the main event in the Western Naval Command, held at SLNS Gemunu, Welisara on 21st March 2021.

Navy Seva Vanitha Unit celebrates International Women's Day
On the sidelines of International Women's Day (08th March), Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) organized a celebratory event to mark this special day on high note. The event which was held under the auspices of the Chairperson of Defence Ministry's Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Chithrani Gunaratne at the Admiral Somathilaka Dissanayake Auditorium on 08th March 2021 was dignified by the presence of NSVU President, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne and Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.

Cafeterias at Welisara Naval Complex declared open as NSVU services
At the invitation of President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne declared open cafeteria facilities at Welisara Naval Complex and Navy General Hospital on an auspicious note on 25th January 2021. The facilities which have been there for the benefit of naval personnel and their family members, received further amelioration with a novel approach under NSVU, to offer better service for those who seek cafeteria facilities at above locations.

Several new Seva Vanitha projects inaugurated in Eastern Naval Command
Going by the initiatives of the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), a number of welfare initiatives have been set in motion to expand welfare facilities of naval personnel. Extending these initiatives further, the President NSVU, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne declared open 02 buildings dedicated for yoghurt projects at Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) Walagamba and Vidura on 24th January 2021. In the same vein, she laid a foundation stone for a new Seva Vanitha Welfare Outlet at SLNS Walagamba as well.

New Abans Showroom at SLNS Mahanaga declared open
President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne on 09th January 2021 ceremonially declared open the NSVU Abans Showroom at Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) Mahanaga, during a simple ceremony which was dignified with the presence of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.
