Navy assists to apprehend suspect with Kerala cannabis

A person possessed Kerala cannabis, was apprehend during an operation carried out by the Navy in coordination with Police STF, in Kudawella fisheries harbour, on 22^nd July 2020.

SL Navy is continuing its operations frequently to prevent illegal drug smuggling in the country. Accordingly, such an operation was conducted by Navy in coordination with Police STF-Pattipola, in Kudawella fisheries harbour premises. During the operation, about 100g of Kerala cannabis and a mini scale were found. The suspicious person along with the amount of Kerala cannabis and mini scale were taken into custody.

The suspect is a resident of Thissamaharama area, aged 29. Recovered Kerala cannabis, mini scale and the suspect were handed over to Tangalle Police for onward investigation.
