Healthcare equipment donated for Naval anti-corona operations by Richmond College Team of 2004

Richmond College Team of 2004 donated a stock of Healthcare equipment to the Sri Lanka Navy, required for the safety of the naval personnel on duty at naval quarantine centers. The donation was made at the Headquarters of Southeastern Naval Command, today (12th May 2020).

With completion of their quarantine process another 28 persons left the quarantine centre established at Naval Base SLNS Buwaneka in Nachchikuda, Mannar, today (12th May 2020).

Arrangements made to provide monthly medications from nearest government hospitals for those who receive treatment from Navy General Hospital

The Navy General Hospital –Colombo has been converted into a treatment center for persons infected with the new coronavirus, soon after the outbreak of COVID – 19. In this backdrop, retired naval personnel, family members of naval personnel and civil staff employees receiving treatment from monthly clinics of the hospital faced quite a few hardships. Taking these matters into consideration, the Navy arranged a new programme, enabling the clinic attendees to receive their medication from the nearest government hospital.

As a measure of controlling the spreading of new coronavirus in the country, Sri Lanka Navy conducted sterilization programmes at all 2020 railway stations from Galle to Beliatta, today (11th May 2020).

Ten SL Navy personnel on Indian training courses arrive Sri Lanka onboard Indian war ship

With the termination of their courses, ten (10) SL Navy personnel who were following training courses in India, arrived to the Southern seas of Sri Lanka onboard an Indian war ship. Thereafter, SL Navy took the returning persons aboard a Fast Attack Craft and accompanied them to the Galle harbour, today (11th May 2020).

Twelve naval personnel tested negative to COVID-19 discharged from hospitals

Twelve (12) other naval personnel infected with coronavirus and underwent treatment in hospitals, were discharged from the hospitals being tested negative to COVID-19, in the evening on 09th May and on 10th May 2020.

During a joint operation conducted by Sri Lanka Navy and Divisional Anti Corruption Unit-Hambanthota, a person with heroin was apprehended at Koholankala area in Hambanthota, today (10th May 2020).
