Some areas of the island are affected by flood due to the prevailing adverse weather condition in the country these days. In accordance with an integrated disaster management plan implemented island wide, a number of emergency naval response teams have been deployed in affected areas, by the Navy as follows.
Admiral Karambir Singh, Chief of the Naval Staff of the Indian Navy, with Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, took time off to clean the Sandy Bay beach area in Trincomalee this morning (22nd December 2019).
The Navy held 09 persons for illegal transferring of sand in Rakuliya, Trincomalee on 21st December 2019.
