Eight persons engaged in illegal acts apprehended by Navy
Navy apprehended 8 persons engaged in illegal acts at several locations in the island during past few days. Accordingly, a person for possessing intoxicating drugs, a suspect with satinwood timber, 4 persons engaged in illegal fishing and another 2 persons with methamphetamine drug were held by the Navy.

Navy apprehends two suspects attempting to smuggle 7 kg of gold into India
Based on information received by the Navy, a group of naval personnel onboard a Fast Attack Craft belonging to the Northern Naval Command intercepted a suspicious dinghy in the seas northwest of Kankesanthurai Lighthouse and apprehended two suspects with 7 kg of gold yesterday (16 January).
