The sacred Poson Poya day, celebrated by Sri Lankan Buddhists as the day which Arahath Mahinda Thero brought the message of Buddhism to Sri Ianka, fell on yesterday (28th June) and in coincide with it Sri Lanka Navy had organized number of religious activities.

Navy bodybuilders became the runners-up at the 10th Defence Services Bodybuilding Championship 2018 held at SLNS Gemunu on 26th June 2018. The championship of the event was won by the Sri Lanka Army.

Navy rescues seamen onboard distressed merchant vessel
The captain and 10 seamen who were onboard the distressed merchant ship “Mutha Pioneer” in the seas 11.6 nautical miles off Colombo harbour, were rescued by Fast Attack Craft attached to Western naval command, at the dawn today (26 Jun ).
