Navy assists towing of distressed fishing vessel to Colombo harbour

The fishing vessel named ‘Tropic Fishery 102’ which had left the Dikovita fisheries harbour, was adrift in the seas about 12 nautical miles off Colombo harbour due to a technical failure yesterday (3rd July).

Navy’s website adjudged the most popular government website at Best Web 2018

The official website of the Sri Lanka Navy (www.navy.lk) was adjudged the most popular government website at the Best Web Competition 2018 organized by the University of Moratuwa. Apart from that the Navy’s website has also won the Bronze Award in the government’s best website category, among a number of other contestants.

Navy rushed into rescue a girl slipped off cliff in Rumassala

Upon information disseminated by the Galle harbour Police about 5.00 p.m. yesterday (03rd July) to the Headquarters of Southern Naval Command, of an incident of a girl of Bonita Children’s Home in Rumassala being accidentally slipped off a nearby cliff, a group of naval personnel belonging to the Navy's Special Boat Squadron and Diving Unit were engaged in rescue efforts.
