The French Naval Ship ‘Auvergne’ which arrived in Sri Lanka on a goodwill visit, departed the Colombo harbour today (06 December) on successful completion of its four-day tour.

Twenty three persons engaged in illegal acts apprehended by Navy
Navy apprehended 23 persons engaged in illegal acts at several locations in island in the past few days. Accordingly, 3 persons for possessing Kerala cannabis, a persons for possessing intoxicating drugs, a person for keeping counterfeit money, a person with heroin, 2 suspects for fishing dolphins, 2 racketeers with sandalwood logs and 13 persons engaged in illegal fishing were taken into naval custody.

French Naval Ship ‘Auvergne’ arrives at port of Colombo
French Naval Ship ‘Auvergne’ arrived at the port of Colombo on a goodwill visit today (03 December). Sri Lanka Navy welcomed the visiting ship in accordance with naval customs upon her arrival. The Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka, H.E. Jean-Marin Schuh and several officials from the French Embassy were present on the harbour premises to receive the French vessel.
