Naval personnel attached to SLNS Vidura located in Sampoor in the Eastern Naval Command apprehended 2 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities using unauthorized explosives in the seas off Norway point yesterday (17).

Navy renders assistance to extinguish a fire at coir factory in Puttalam
At the request made by Disaster Management Centre in Puttlam, naval personnel attached to SLNS Tambapanni located in Puttalam in the Northwestern Naval Area, managed to extinguish a fire that broke out at a coir factory in Madurankuliya area on 15th June 2015.
