Navy arrests a person with 4 kg of Kerala Cannabis in Possession
On receipt of information by the Naval Intelligence Team, Naval personnel attached to SLNS Kanchadewa located in Kayts and SLNS Welusumana located in Mandathivu in the Northern Naval Command with the assistance of Excise Officers of the Point Pedro arrested a person who was transporting 4 kg of Kerala Cannabis in the general area of Thirunalweli yesterday (18).

Naval personnel attached to the Naval Deployment Vettalakerni in the Northern Naval Command arrested abandoned 26.75 kg of Kerala Cannabis which has been packed in 13 separate packs in the general area of Championpaththu yesterday (17).

Sri Lanka Navy apprehended 18 Sri Lankans, who were on an illegal migration attempt to Australia by boat, in the seas off 40 Nautical Miles off Batticaloa yesterday morning (15). The migrants have left from Valaichchenai onboard a Multi-Day Fishing Vessel named “Blue Star”.
