Defence Attaché of German Embassy in New Delhi calls on Commander of the Navy

Navy contributes planting of mangrove in Kilali Lagoon

As part of the Mangrove Conservation Project of the Sri Lanka Navy, a similar initiative to plant mangrove saplings in Kilali Lagoon, Jaffna was held under the auspices of Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Priyantha Perera on 03rd October 2021.

Bomb Disposal Qualifying Course successfully concludes in Maho

Commander Northwestern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularathne on 01st October 2021 presided over the insignia pinning and certificate awarding ceremony of the Bomb Disposal Qualifying Course conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy’s Bomb Disposal Training School in Maho.

JMSDF Ships arrive in Colombo on official visit

Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) ships named KAGA – a multi-purpose operation destroyer and destroyer MURASAME arrived at the port of Colombo on an official visit today (02nd October 2021). Upon their arrival, the visiting ships were welcomed by Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions.

SLNS ‘Jayasagara’ relinquishes her service in the Navy

The ceremonial decommissioning of Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) ‘Jayasagara’ took place under the patronage of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Naval Dockyard in Trincomalee on 30th September 2021. The impressive event held in keeping with naval traditions was also attended by President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne. Attached to the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) fleet, SLNS ‘Jayasagara’ rendered an invaluable service, by ensuring the maritime security of the island nation for nearly (04) four decades, as a maritime surveillance vessel.
