On receipt of information, naval personnel attached to SLNS Therapuththa located in Silawathura belonging to the North Western Naval Command, in coordination with Silawathura Police, arrested 2 suspects with 13 packets of Kerala Cannabis in Palakkuli area yesterday (9).

Navy apprehends 14 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing activities
Naval personnel attached to Fast Attack Craft deployed in the Eastern Naval Command, arrested 14 fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing practices in the sea area off Illanthnttunu yesterday (8). Along with the suspects, 2 dinghies, 2 unauthorized nets and 2 diving fins were also taken into custody by the Navy.

On receipt of intelligence tip-off, naval personnel attached to SLNS Gemunu located in Welisara, in coordination with Mahabage Police apprehended a suspect with 300 prescription drug tablets (Tramadol) which were made ready to be transferred, near Handala Filling Station yesterday (7).
