Minister of Foreign Affairs visits onboard USS ‘Lake Erie’
 

A guided-missile cruiser of the United States Navy, USS ‘Lake Erie’ arrived at the Port of Colombo on a post relief mission on 11th June.

Ayagama Bridge vested in the public in Rathnapura
 

The ‘Welamiriya Suspension Bridge’ which sustained damages inflicted by the recent flash floods, was reconstructed and ceremonially declared open for the community use by the Navy, today (June, 16) in Ayagama. The bride is located at Kavittigoda belonging to the MedagalakuraGramaNiladhari Division in Ayagama, Rathnapura.

On receipt of intelligence information, naval personnel attached to the Western Naval Command combined with Peliyagoda Police, on a search carried out at Peralanda, Ragama area apprehended a person with illegal drugs yesterday (15).

A suspect nabs with 142 kg of Kerala Cannabis in Silawathura
 

On receipt of information to the Navy, a group of naval personnel attached to the North Western Naval Command in coordination with Police Narcotic division, Mannar nabbed a suspect with 142 kg of Kerala cannabis while transferring on a motor bike in Marichchikatti, Karadakkuliya beach area in Silawathura today (16th June).

Navy renders assistance to distressed fishing trawler in northern sea
 

Responding to the distress call, naval personnel on-board a Fast Gun Boat (FGB) attached to the Northern Naval Command rendered assistance to a fishing trawler ‘Sudeepa’ along with 3 fishermen aboard, in the seas approx 5 Nm West of Delft Island today (June,15).

A group of naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command, during a routine patrol, apprehended 13 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing practices in the waters off Fisherman Rock, inner harbour Trincomalee yesterday (14, June).

Navy grants one million rupees as death compensation to family members of an Able Seaman
 

The Sri Lanka Navy donated one million rupees as death compensation, under the Navy's healthcare scheme, "Naviru Saviya," to the family members of Able Seaman CS Weerakkody who succumbed to a vehicle accident, at his residence in Anamaduwa yesterday (June,14).
