Navy continues more disinfection programmes

As a preventive measure of the spreading of novel coronavirus in the country, more disinfection programmes were conducted by Sri Lanka Navy during 3rd to 5th April 2020, at Colombo National Hospital, Colombo North Teaching Hospital-Ragama and Bank premises in Colombo Fort area.

The Navy apprehended 02 persons for breaking curfew regulations at the roadblock erected near the junction of Muhudu Maha Vihara, Arugam Bay on 04th April 2020.

The Navy, on 03rd April 2020, rendered assistance to transfer essential supplies to the Delft Island for distribution among community. As a measure to curb the spread of novel coronavirus in the country, the government introduced a new mechanism to deliver essential supplies to the doorstep of community.

Navy apprehended two persons with 34kg of beef in two occasions and two persons travelled on a motor bike breaching curfew, during a foot patrol carried out in Arugambay area, today (3rd April 2020).

Disinfection chambers built by the Navy’s Research and Development Unit under Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) Project were set up at the Colombo South Teaching Hospital – Kalubowila, Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital and University Hospital KDU on 02nd April 2020.

Few more disinfection programmes were conducted by Sri Lanka Navy in order to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus in the country, during 1st to 2nd April 2020, at Puttalam Base Hospital, Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation, People’s Bank premises in Narahenpita and Kirulapana and Zahira College-Puttalam.
