The first copy of the third edition of Navy Journal published by the Naval Research Wing was offered to Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne by its Chief Editor, Commodore Priyantha Perera at Naval Headquarters today (16).

Nine Reverse Osmosis plants declared open for community use
 

Nine more Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants produced by the Navy’s Research and Development Unit following a visionary concept of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, declared open for community use in the districts of Anuradhapura, Jaffna and Polonnaruwa recently.

SLNS Rathnadeepa receives replacement engine from Australia
 

At a request of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, the Australian Border Force provided a replacement engine for SLNS Rathnadeepa, a Bay Class Patrol Vessel, of the Sri Lanka Navy, during a ceremony held at Pier No1, SLNS Rangalla today (15).

Sri Lanka Navy’s Flagship Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), SLNS ‘Sayura’ left for Malaysiathis evening (14) from the Port of Colombo, to take part in the Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2017 held on Langkawi Island.

Seventy seven (77) Indian and twelve (12) Sri Lankan fishermen repatriated
 

A total of 89 fishermen, seventy seven (77) Indians and twelve (12) Sri Lankans who were held in custody in respective countries for violation of International Maritime Boundary Line and engaged in illegal fishing practices, were released from custody and repatriated to their counties today (14).

Navy bestows another 13 Reverse Osmosis plants on community
 

Accomplishing another community service project of the Sri Lanka Navy, a total of 13 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants installed at Wilgamuwa in Matale were declared open by the Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayaka with the participation of Commander of Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne yesterday (13).

Naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command arrested 13 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing practices using explosives, at two separate locations.
