Six foreign and local personnel apprehended for snapping marine mammals

On receipt of information by the Navy, two Fast Attack Craft attached to the Sri Lanka Coast Guard apprehended 4 foreigners and 2 local personnel who dived in ‘Thalaramba’ coastal area to take photographs of marine animals without due approval yesterday (22).

Navy rescues a critically ill patient

The Sri Lanka Navy yesterday (20), rendered assistance to transfer a critically ill fisherman ashore for treatment. The fisherman was onboard a multiday fishing vessel named ‘Nisal Putha’ which had ventured into the sea for fishing from the Tangalle Fisheries Harbour.
