Navy assists to extinguish fire at Kerawalapitiya
With the quick reaction into the fire which broke out at Kerawalapitiya in Colombo, Naval fire fighting teams extinguished it totally, yesterday night. ( 5th January ) Just after receiving the information of this mass fire around the garbage dump at Kerawalapitiya, two Naval fire fighting teams were dispatched to the location immediately.

Navy apprehends a person with a Thresher Shark
On information received by the Navy, Naval personnel attached to Eastern Naval Command together with the officials from Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Trincomalee, arrested a person with a Thresher Shark which was set for sale illegally during a raid carried out in Trincomalee harbour area yesterday ( 5th January ).

Suspect apprehended with 2.8 kg of intoxicating substance in Jaffna
