BNS ‘Abu Ubaidah’ departs the island

The Bangladesh Naval Ship ‘Abu Ubaidah’ which arrived at the port of Colombo on 18th December 2021 on an official visit, departed the island today (20th December).

During the visit, the Commanding Officer of the ship, Captain MD Ashrafuzzaman called on the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy, Commander Western Naval Area and Commandant of Volunteer Naval Force, Rear Admiral Upul De Silva at the Western Naval Command Headquarters. The cordial discussions between them drew to a close with an exchange of mementoes.

The crew members of BNS ‘Abu Ubaidah’, during their stay in the island, also took part in several programmes organized by Sri Lanka Navy. All these programmed were held adhering to COVID-19 protocols to prevent possibilities of the transmission of the pandemic. These engagements made way for both parties to exchange best practices and their experience.

On successful completion of tour events, the ship departed the island today and Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ship.
