The newly constructed Rappelling Tower at the Special Boat Squadron (SBS) was declared open by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva on 03rd July 2020.

Another 02 naval personnel discharged from hospitals following full recovery from COVID – 19, taking total recoveries to 879
Another 02 naval personnel who had contracted COVID-19 and underwent treatment in hospitals, were discharged from them after gaining full recovery from the virus, confirmed by PCR tests, on 03rd July 2020.

34 Midshipmen commissioned as Naval Officers at Naval & Maritime Academy in Trincomalee
The Commissioning Ceremony of 33rd (Technical) and 34th Intake (KDU) Midshipmen who were trained at the Naval & Maritime Academy (NMA) in Trincomalee and at Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) was conducted at the Naval & Maritime Academy in Trincomalee, on 03rd July 2020.
