Exercise KAKADU 18 begins in Darwin, Australia
Exercise KAKADU 18 is a multilateral regional maritime exercise hosted by the Royal Australian Navy with the participation of many other regional countries. The opening ceremony of KAKADU 18 was held on 31st August 2018 onboard the flagship of Royal Australian Naval fleet HMAS Canberra (L 02) in Darwin, Australia.

Three hundred and eighty four (384) recruit sailors of 232nd regular intake pass out in Poonewa
Three hundred and eighty four (384) naval recruits belonging to the 232nd regular intake of Sri Lanka Navy, on completion of their basic training, passed out at the main parade ground of SLNS Shiksha in Poonewa on 1st September.
