A campaign to clean beach areas in the North Central Naval Command
 

A campaign in view of cleaning the beach areas in the North Central Naval Command was conducted by the naval personnel attached to the command, on last 25th August.

Accordingly, cleaning prograammes to clean the beach area of Thalaimannar by SLNS Thammanna, the beach area around Mannar Island by SLNS Gajaba, Vankalai beach area by SLNS Pussadeva and Nachikuda beach line by SLNS Buwaneka were carried out.

Further, this cleaning campaign was successfully carried out with the participation of 319 naval personnel attached to the command with the guidance of all Commanding Officers under the directives of Commander North Central Naval Area Rear Admiral Muditha Gamage. Sri Lanka Navy is always committed to maintain the beach areas island wide and weekly programmes are carried out to clean the surrounding beach areas of the Naval bases.
