Six Logistic Officers of 01/2017 direct entry intake pass out from the Naval and Maritime Academy
 

Six (06) officers of the Direct Entry 01/2017 (Logistics) intake passed out at the main parade ground of Naval & Maritime Academy (NMA) in concurrence with the 67th Navy day celebrations on 09 Dec 17. Following the successful completion of one year arduous training, these officers were passed out through the reputed portal of Sri Lanka Navy’s premier training establishment, the NMA. The Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy Commodore Kassapa Paul graced the occasion as the chief guest and took the salute therein.

The batch consisted of one Lieutenant and five Sub Lieutenants of Logistic branch including three Lady Officers. Those who excelled during the training were presented with special awards in recognition of their outstanding performance. Accordingly Sub Lieutenant SGM Sajeewani won the award of the Best Direct Entry Officer and Sub Lieutenant RMKA Rajapaksha won the award of the Best Marksman.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guest Commodore Paul emphasized the responsibilities of newly passed out officers and also he urged that young officers are to inculcate discipline, leadership, professional competency and other essential attributes in pursuit of becoming commissioned naval officer to meet the future challenges with self-confidence. The commandant also conveyed the message sent by the Commander of the Navy in view of the 67th Navy day as well.
