The Secretary of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ms. Frances Adamson called on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Travis Sinniah at the Navy Headquarters today (02 September 2017). She was warmly received according a token guard on her arrival.

Navy assists to stop Ingiriya fuel spill
Naval personnel attached to the Sri Lanka Coast Guard provided swift assistance to prevent the fuel spill caused by a fuel bowser belonging to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, which had capsized at Madala in Ingiriya yesterday (01 September 2017).

Navy arrests 03 Indians with a consignment of banned insecticide
During a special operation carried out on information received, naval personnel attached to the North-Central Naval Command arrested 03 Indian nationals attempting to smuggle in a consignment of banned insecticide in the seas 33 nautical miles west of Kudiramalai yesterday (01 September 2017).
