Following information disseminated by Hambantota Port Control MRMRP, a group of naval personnel attached to the Naval Deployment, Hambantota rendered assistance to rescue a French national and his yacht encountered a distressed situation in the seas off Koholankala Saltern, Hambantota yesterday (25).

Five persons nabbed for transportation of 942 packets of red onion seeds illegally
On receipt of an intelligence tip-off to the Navy, a group of naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command in coordination with the Silawathura Police apprehended 5 suspects engaged in illegal transportation of red onion seeds in Kokkupadayan, Silawathura today (26).
