Implementing yet another community service programme of the Sri Lanka Navy, a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant was installed at Koruwewa Mahanama Maha Vidyalaya in Polpithigama considering the hardships faced by the students of the school and residents in the area.

Navy arrests 14 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing activities
Naval personnel attached to SLNS Vidura located in Sampoor in the Eastern Naval Command apprehended 14 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing practices using monofilament nets in the sea area off Sampoor on 13th September 2016.
