Navy arrests twenty-two local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing
Naval personnel attached to SLNS Vijayaba located in Nilaweli belonging to the Eastern Naval Command arrested 22 persons who engaged in illegal fishing practices using unauthorized nets in Nilaweli sea area yesterday (22).

Navy apprehends local fishermen for harvesting sea cucumbers without license
Naval personnel attached to SLNS Welusumana located in Mandativu in Northern Naval Command managed to apprehend 2 local fishermen for harvesting sea cucumbers in the seas off Kalmunai Point and Mandativu Island yesterday (22). During the arrest 7 sea cucumbers, 2 pairs of diving fins and 2 diving masks were taken into custody.
