Navy apprehends 7 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing
Naval personnel attached to SLNS Walagamba located in Kuchchaweli in the Eastern Naval Command apprehended 7 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities using unauthorized explosives in the seas north of Pigeon Island yesterday (26). Along with the suspects a dinghy, illegal fishing net and a pair of diving fins were also taken in to naval custody.
