Navy apprehends 9 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Parakumba in Eastern Naval Area arrested 9 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities in Sampoor area on 5^th June 2016. Along with the suspects a dinghy, a monofilament net, two diving masks and a pair of diving fins used for fishing activities were also taken into custody.

The apprehended persons and the items were produced to Sampoor Police for onward action.
