Navy renders assistance to restore peoples’ lives back to normal
 

People who were affected by floods are now heading back to their initial residences and are in a transition period to restore their lives back to normal. In this backdrop the Sri Lanka Navy’s relief teams were busy with cleaning over 70 wells which were polluted by stagnant flood water and mending 7 canals damaged due to the devastation.

A total of 320 naval personnel were deployed by the Navy for this task. Hence a team comprising 63 naval personnel were engaged in work covering Ihala Bomiriya, Welivita, Mulleriyawa and Udamaluwa areas. Meanwhile another two teams consisting 222 and 35 naval personnel were deployed in Mulleriyawa, Kaduwela and Angoda areas respectively. The Navy expects to restore the devastated lives of the general public back to normal as soon as possible.
