Dialog Axiata PLC joins hands with Sri Lanka Navy to provide relief for people affected by floods
 

In order to control the deployment and movement of Flood Relief Boat Teams effectively and efficiently from the Naval Headquarters Main Operations Room, the Dialog Axiata PLC provided Sri Lanka Navy a Data Communication Network which tracks boats using G.P.S technology free of charge to be installed in the boats engaged in flood relief operations.

The state of the art system has networked 100 Boat Teams which were deployed from Hanwella to Thotalanga in the Kelani Valley area which is severely affected by floods and helped to rescue people confined to dangerous locations. Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne extended his heartfelt gratitude to Dialog Axiata PLC for helping the Sri Lanka Navy to carry out its flood relief boat operations efficiently and collaborating in this humanitarian endeavour.
