Navy arrests 6 fishermen while transferring sea cucumbers illegally
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Thammanna in Mannar of North Central Command arrested six local fishermen who were illegally transferring sea cucumbers in the sea area Southwest of Kachchativu yesterday (28). During the arrest 1161 kg of dry sea cucumbers, three dinghies two GPS units were taken into custody.

The arrested persons and the haul of sea cucumbers were produced to the Assistant Fisheries Inspector’s Office in Mannar for onward action.
