Commander of the Task Force and Commanding Officers of the visiting PLAN ships call on Commander of the Navy
The Commander of the Task Force and Deputy Chief of Staff of the South Sea Fleet of the PLA Navy, Rear Admiral Yu Manjiang and the Commanding Officers of the three PLAN ships, which are on a goodwill visit to Sri Lanka, paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo on 18th January 2016.

Navy repairs Reverse Osmosis Plant at Janakapura Vidyalaya
In response to a request made by the Presidential Task Force for Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease, the Sri Lanka Navy effected repairs to a malfunctioned Reverse Osmosis Plant (RO Plant) at Mu/Janakapura Vidyalaya in Janakapura, Weli Oya, enabling the students to have clean and safe drinking water.

The book The Monastic Tradition of Sri Lanka (ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ආරණ්ය සේනාසන සම්ප්රදාය) , written by Lieutenant Commander Ishara Karunaratne, was presented to the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters on 18th January 2016.
