Navy brings a patient who was onboard a fishing vessel ashore for medical treatment
On receipt of information from the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Sri Lanka Navy immediately dispatched a naval craft on 16th November 2015 to assist a patient onboard a fishing trawler named 'Oshani 1' which was at 65 nautical miles east of Trincomalee.

Navy assists civilians to cross flooded bridge at Mandagal Aru
Promptly responding to the requests made by the Divisional Secretariat of Pooneryn and Nachchikuda police, the naval personnel attached to SLNS Buwaneka in Nachchikuda and the Rapid, Response, Rescue, and Relief Squadron (4Rs) personnel attached to SLNS Pandukabhaya in Poonewa assisted civilians to cross the flooded bridge on Mannar- Jaffna main road (A32) at Mandagal Aru on 15th and 16th November 2015.

Secretary of Defence visits SLN Headquarters
The Secretary of Defence, Mr Karunasena Hettiarachchi visited the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Navy on 16th November 2015. He was accorded a Guard of Honour on arrival and warmly received by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, who introduced him to the Chief of Staff, Director Generals and Area Commanders of the Navy.
