Navy renders assistance in electrification of Analativu Island

Sri Lanka Navy's Landing Craft, L 820 and L 821, attached to the Northern Naval Command, rendered assistance to transport lamp posts, transformers and other equipment to Analativu island at a request made by the Ceylon Electricity Board. They transported 654 lamp posts, 47 reels of electric wire, 02 transformers, 01 generator, 01 crane and other equipment, working on a 19-day period from 13th October to 06th November 2015.

The Navy's prompt assistance would expedite the electrification of the northern islet, enabling the residents to obtain much needed electricity within a short span of time.
