‍Four local fishermen arrested for illegal fishing

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Theraputta in Silawathura deployed on routine patrol arrested 4 local fishermen along with a Fiber Glass Dinghy, 175 kilograms of sea cucumber and 4 diving face masks whilst engaged in fishing without permit in the seas between Kallaru and Kondachchikuda on 05th November 2015.

The arrested persons and the items were handed over to the officials of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Mannar for further investigations.
