Pakistan Naval Ship "SHAMSHEER" arrives at the Port of Colombo

The Pakistan Naval Ship "SHAMSHEER" arrived at the Port of Colombo on 30th November 2015 on a goodwill visit. The ship was ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on its arrival.

Navy arrest ten persons with four illegal fishing nets

Naval personnel attached to Naval Deployment Batticaloa of the Eastern Naval Command with the assistance of the Fisheries Inspector (Batticaloa) arrested ten persons along with 4 Fiber Glass Dinghies and 4 illegal fishing nets (Surukku nets) in the general area Punnaikudah in Batticaloa on 28th November 2015.

Sri Lanka Navy assisted the Sri Lanka Coast Guard to arrest eight Indian fishermen along with two Indian fishing trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters near the Delft Island on 29th November 2015.

Fifteen Indian fishermen arrested in Sri Lankan waters

Sri Lanka Navy assisted the Sri Lanka Coast Guard to arrest fifteen Indian fishermen along with three Indian fishing trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters near the Delft Island and North-West of Thalai-mannar on the night of 25th and in the early hours of 26th November 2015.

GD 2015 Foreign Delegates call on Commander of the Navy

The foreign delegates attending the Galle Dialogue - 2015 called on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne to express their thanks for the SLN initiative which has attracted many maritime experts and naval strategists from around the world for exchange of views and discussions which are of great importance for the security and safety of the Indian Ocean.
