The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne was the Chief Guest at the Inter Command Combat Competition which culminated with a shooting competition, was held at the Firing Range of the Naval Base Trincomalee on 29th October 2015.

KDU confers a PhD degree on Admiral Jayanath Colombage
The former Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Admiral Jayanath Colombage, RSP, VSV, USP, rcds, psc MSc (DS), MA (IS), Dip in IR, Dip in CR, FNI (Lond), has become the first ever doctoral graduand of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University being conferred with a PhD degree.
