Commanding Officers of the three Indian naval ships call on the Commander of the Navy
The Commanding Officer of INS Kora, Commander Ashok Rao, the Commanding Officer of INS Kirpan, Commander Abraham Samuel and the Commanding Officer of INS Savitri, Commander Prashant Negi paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Navy House in Trincomalee on 27th October 2015. The three Indian naval ships are in Sri Lanka to take part in the Indo-Sri Lanka naval exercise (SLINEX), which is held in the seas off Trincomalee.
They held cordial discussions on matters of mutual interest with special emphasis on the joint naval exercise. During the discussions, the Commander of the Navy conveyed his appreciation of their acceptation of the Sri Lanka Navy’s invitation to participate in the six-day naval exercise as it is mutually beneficial to both the Navies in maintaining maritime security in the region.
Mementoes were also exchanged as a gesture of goodwill and long lasting friendship at the conclusion of the discussions.
The Deputy Chief of Staff and Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Neil Rosayro and Defence Adviser of the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, Captain Prakash Gopalan were also present on the occasion.
