NAVY’S 63RD ANNIVERSARY CONCLUDING RELIGIOUS CEREMONY HELD AT KELANIYA RAJAMAHA VIHARAYA

The concluding religious ceremony in view of the Sri Lanka Navy’s 63rd Anniversary celebrations was held at the Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya on 31st December 2013. A “Bodhi Pooja” followed by a “Bana” was conducted invoking blessings on the Navy and Naval personnel. Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage, President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Srima Colombage, Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Jayantha Perera, Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe, Senior Naval officers and sailors were also present on the occasion.

Sri Lanka Navy celebrated its 63rd Anniversary on 09th December 2013 in an elaborate manner giving prominence to the religious activities. Merit was bestowed on the heroic naval personnel who laid down their lives in the defence of the Motherland.
