Naval personnel remove woody debris under Aviththawa Bridge

The Navy in the past week enabled manpower to clear debris collected under the Aviththawa Bridge over Bentara Ganga, as it hampered the free flow of river water.

Following the showery weather condition prevailed in the past week, the river was in full spate carrying a large amount of woody debris and other remains to collect them under the Aviththawa Bridge, disturbing the downstream of water.

Making a strong commitment to redress the blockage, a team from the Southern Naval Command was sent to the location by the Navy and the naval personnel managed to clear the debris and remains under the bridge, restoring the proper downstream of water.
