Rear Admiral AARK Perera honoured in farewell salute

Rear Admiral AARK Perera today (30th November 2020) bade farewell to his illustrious naval career which spanned over 33 years.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne along with Director Generals of the Navy extended best wishes to the retiring officer who is celebrating his 55th birthday today. Thereupon, Rear Admiral AARK Perera was accorded a Guard of Honour in accordance with naval traditions. Subsequently, the fellow naval officers made their formal farewells to the outgoing senior officer in appreciation of his service rendered to the organization. Thereupon, he was sent off from the Navy Headquarters.

Having joined the Sri Lanka Navy in 1987, Rear Admiral AARK Perera has held a number of key appointments such as Chief Instructor at Defence Services Command and Staff College, Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy, Deputy Area Commander Northwestern and Western Naval Commands and Director General Training during his distinguished career in the Navy.
