Visit Board Search & Seizure (VBSS) Course terminates in Trincomalee

A Visit Board Search & Seizure (VBSS) Course conducted for the Sri Lankan Law Enforcement Officers with the association of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Programme terminated at the Special Boat Squadron Headquarters on 09th October 2020.

The course which commenced on 28th September 2020, has been organized for the fourth time in the year 2020, under the Global Maritime Crime Programme of UNODC and the training imparted the trainees comprehensive knowledge on drug identification, searching methods, drug transferring methods and planning, preparation and boarding procedures.

Meanwhile, 30 participants from Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Coast guard, Sri Lanka Police and Sri Lanka Customs took part in this Two-week-long programme and the course saw the representation of the Sri Lanka Police and Customs for the first time.

The certificate warding held on completion of the course was attended by Training Commander of Special Boat Squadron, officials from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and instructors of the Special Boat Squadron.
