Inhaler devices invented by Surgeon Charith Nanayakkara, donated to Navy

In assistance to the Navy’s effort to control the spread of coronavirus in the country, inhaler devices invented by Surgeon Charith Nanayakkara, a lecturer in General Sir John Kothalawala Defence University, were donated to the Navy at the Naval Headquarters, today (29th April 2020).

Several programmes are being carried out by Navy under the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, to control the spread of the coronavirus in the country and also Navy maintains a number of quarantine centers island-wide. Further, these programmes are supported by various organizations providing materials aids. Accordingly, a stock of 50 inhaler devices produced by Dankotuwa Porcelain Ltd. according to an invention by Surgeon Charith Nanayakkara, a lecturer in General Sir John Kothalawala Defence University, was handed over to the Navy today.

The donation was taken over by Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva. Surgeon Charith Nanayakkara, lecturer in General Sir John Kothalawala Defence University, Chief Executive Officer of Dankotuwa Porcelain Ltd. and its representatives were present on this occasion. Further, Commander of the Navy expressed Navy’s gratitude to the representatives for this timely valuable donation to the Navy.
