Navy assists seizure of Kerala cannabis at Kilinochchi

The Navy seized 1kg and 900g of Kerala cannabis, during a search conducted with the Police at Kilinochchi on 29^th January 2020.

During a coordinated search conducted with the Police STF of Kilinochchi, the Navy managed to find a parcel cast aside at Barathipuram in Kilinochchi. As the parcel was unpacked for further investigation, the security personnel found 1kg and 900g of Kerala cannabis in them. It is believed that drug smugglers might have left behind this parcel in fear of regular anti-drug operations conducted by the Navy.

The seized stock of Kerala cannabis was handed over to the Kilinochchi Police for onward investigation.
