Seventy five (75) senior sailors receive interest free loans
 

Sri Lanka Navy granted interest free loans worth Rs. 500,000 each to another seventy five (75) senior sailors during a simple ceremony presided over by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva at the Naval Headquarters today (31st January). The financial allocation of Rs. 37.5 million utilized for the above purpose was provided by the Naval Benefit Foundation. The occasion was also attended by the Aide & Personal Secretary to the Commander of the Navy, Captain (G) Harsha De Silva.

This welfare initiative was mooted to recognize the contributions of long serving senior sailors of the Sri Lanka Navy. Accordingly, a total of 2112 senior sailors have been granted interest free loans till date. The Navy is determined to offer this financial support to yet another 2996 senior sailors in due course.
