Another hundred senior sailors receive interest free loans
 

Sri Lanka Navy granted interest free loans worth Rs. 500,000 each to another hundred (100) senior sailors in a ceremony presided over by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe at his office in the Naval Headquarters today (26th October). The financial allocation of Rs. 50 million utilized for the above purpose was provided by the Naval Benefit Foundation. The occasion was also attended by the Secretary to the Commander of the Navy, Captain (S) Achala De Silva and the Manager of Naval Benefit Foundation, Lieutenant Commander KM Dayananda.

This welfare initiative was mooted to recognize the contributions of long serving senior sailors of the Sri Lanka Navy. Accordingly, a total of 1,728 senior sailors have been granted interest free loans till date. The Navy is determined to grant this financial support to yet another 3239 senior sailors in due course.
