New house handed over to Able Patrolman MSL Abewardana
 

As part of the Navy Welfare Unit’s magnanimous initiative to build houses for naval personnel who do not possess such facilities, a newly constructed house was handed over to the Able Patrolman MSL Abewardana today (30 December). The Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Neil Rosayro was the Chief Guest of this occasion.

The house which is inclusive of all facilities has been built in Dehiovita, Awissawella utilizing the man power and expertise of Naval Civil Engineering branch. The Chief Guest of the occasion ceremonially opened the new house following religious observances. Meanwhile, Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Neil Rosayro planted a tree sapling on the house premises to signify this occasion. Thereupon, the Navy Welfare Unit presented a special prize to the sailor as well.

Director Naval Welfare, Commodore Nilantha Heenatigala, officers and family members of Able Patrolman Abewardana were also present on this event. The beneficiary expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Commander of the Navy and entire Navy for making their biggest dream come true.
