School supplies offered to grade 5 scholarship achievers
 

Sixty (60) grade 5 scholarship achievers belonging to naval families were offered school supplies during a ceremony held at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium of SLNS Parakrama today (28 December). The ceremony was graced by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe as the Chief Guest.

The proceedings of the event commenced after the lighting of traditional oil lamp and Commander of the Navy presented school supplies for the children in recognition of their academic excellence and enabling them to pursue educational affairs successfully in the new year. The children and parents extended their great debt of gratitude to the Navy Commander for the provision of these incentives. The children also posed for a group photograph with Vice Admiral Ranasinghe on this occasion.

The event was also attended by Director General Personnel, Rear Admiral Sujeewa Perera, Director Naval Welfare, Commodore Nilantha Heenatigala and a group of officers and sailors.
